Ranchi, Jan 8: The Jharkhand Education Minister Jagarnath Mahato has given instructions to the Jharkhand School Education and Literacy department to keep the schools in Jharkhand closed till January 15, keeping in mind the decreasing temperatures in the state. However, the district administration is yet to release any written notice in this regard.
Talking in this regard, district administration officials said, “We have not yet received any such information, written or otherwise. Hence, I cannot confirm if such a decision has been made.”
Meanwhile, the notice issued by the school education department comments that the schools will be reopened for classes from January 16.
Earlier, in view of the severe cold, Education Minister Jagannath Mahato had directed the closure of all government and private schools till January 8 for the children of classes 1 to 5., after which, the education department along with the district administration had released information in this regard.
This step was taken after the parents’ unions in various districts had also written letters to Deputy Commissioners in their respective districts and demanded that schools be closed, in light of such action already been taken in Bihar.
