BIT Sindri sets up Jharkhand’s first Artificial Intelligence lab

Dhanbad, Jan 13: Birsa Institute of Technology (BIT) Sindri, in collaboration with Accure Pvt Ltd, Bangalore, has set up Jharkhand’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lab.

BIT Sindri Director Dr DK Singh said that the Al lab will be a milestone in harnessing the opportunity for employment and research in the emerging areas of technology. The lab will be highly useful in conducting B Tech, M Tech, and PhD work in BIT Sindri Computer Science and  IT department.

The Director said BIT Sindri on March 12, 2022, signed an MoU with Accure Pvt Ltd for AI Lab. This lab is the first of its kind in the state of Jharkhand. A distinguished alumnus of the institution Mogishuddin Raza (Co-founder and COO), and Shamshad Ansari (CEO and President) of the Accure Pvt. Ltd has set up the lab.

“The company offers Al platform momentum and the Al solutions built on business verticals such as healthcare, Banking & Financial Institutions, manufacturing, retail and others,” he said.

The experts, who conducted the training were Shamshad Ansari, Mogishuddin Raza, and Suraj Srivastava of Accure Pvt. Ltd. Bangalore. Shamshad is also an adjunct professor at George Mason University, Virginia and has authored a book on Computer vision and Al.

The training cum learning program was conducted online using the Zoom platform from December 26 to January 9, 2023, under the patronage of Prof DK Singh, director, BIT Sindri, Prof SC Dutta, HoD (CSE & IT), and Asst Prof Md Akram Khan.

 Dr DK Singh expressed his gratitude to the CEO and COO of Accure Inc. Shamshad Ansari and Mogishuddin Raza for establishing the Al lab on the campus and conducting a two-week FDP program on data science & Al for non-programmers.

Convener  Prof SC Dutta said the Al lab is going to help the students and faculty members of all the branches. They will get exposed to AI, ML, computer vision, the Internet of things, and Industry 4.0 technologies. and its related advanced technologies.

Shamshad said Accure Pvt Ltd is on a mission to democratize Al and enable domain experts, business analysts and students, who do not have a background in traditional programming, to develop and deploy Al solutions.

Raza said the industries of Jharkhand, West Bengal, Bihar, Orissa, Assam, and the eastern part of the country can be benefitted from BIT Sindri to solve their complex engineering and business problems which can be addressed using advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Internet of Things-lloT 4.0 technologies etc.

Prof Akram Khan, who ensured the establishment of Al lab and coordinated the Al training said, “BIT Sindri Al lab is going to give exposure to the industrial real-time work experience. Not only students but also faculty members will be benefited from AI lab in their research-related works.
