Ranchi, Jan 13: The Central University of Jharkhand on Friday organised a one-day awareness programme on Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). The aim of the programme was to make students aware of the PMEGP and inform them how one can avail the benefits of this programme to become an entrepreneur in Jharkhand.
The event was organised by the Training and Placement Cell, CUJ in collaboration with the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India.
Rajeev Kumar, Assistant Director, KVIC, Ranchi while interacting with the students, faculties and staff of the university discussed about the features of PMEGP. He also underlined that Jharkhand has immense potential which may be it its benefit.
The programme began with an introduction by Dr Bhaskar Singh. The event was chaired by Prof A K Padhy, Dean R&D. He was accompanied by Prof Manoj Kumar, Dean Academic Affairs and Prof A C Pandey, Dean School of Natural Sciences. Prof Padhy further appreciated the efforts of PM of India in creating this programme. Prof Kumar and Prof Pandey highlighted the need of entrepreneurship in Jharkhand.
During the event, students asked several questions which were addressed by the resource person from KVIC, Rajeev Kumar. Around 300 students participated in the programme.
The programme was attended by all the Deans, Heads, Finance Officer, Director IQAC (I/C), Estate Officer and other faculties. Members of the Training and Placement Cell Dr. Sudarshan Yadav and Dr. Nitesh Bhatia were also present. The vote of thanks was given by Dr. Kuldeep Bauddh.
