Ranchi, Jan 26: Ziqitza Healthcare Limited (ZHL) has been assisting people in Jharkhand, especially during the three waves of the Covid pandemic, for five incredible years now. They have done an amazing job operating 108 ambulances across the state and are close to completing their mission.

ZHL has done a commendable job by standing with the people of Jharkhand, providing assistance in emergency situations like transporting pregnant women for hospital visits and medical aid to accident victims within the golden hour.

ZHL has made a remarkable effort in ensuring the safety of over 8.37 lakh patients from across the state. They are especially proud of their initiative in transporting more than 39 thousand COVID patients to and from the hospital, making sure they get timely medical assistance.

ZHL has been making a positive impact on people’s lives by providing sustained support to 1.45 lakh unfortunate accident victims and 3.59 lakh pregnant women, helping them reach hospitals with ease during critical times and ensuring that they have access to regular check-ups.

ZHL Jharkhand is committed to serving the people of the state with the help of their 337 ambulances out of which 287 ambulances are equipped with basic life support services, whereas 50 ambulances are equipped with Advanced Life Support equipment for the patients being transferred from one hospital to another.

In 2020 when migrant workers and students from Jharkhand reached home through special trains, 108 ambulance teams stepped up to help them when they arrived at Jharkhand railway stations. 108 ambulances were used as emergency vehicles at Ranchi railway station when a group of approximately 4000 migrant labourers and students came back to their home state from Vellore through special trains.

Committed to continuing the good work

Speaking about this journey, Sumit Basu, Senior Vice President, of Ziqitza Healthcare Limited, said, “Our journey so far in Jharkhand has been extremely incredible and enriching. We are grateful to the Jharkhand government and National Health Mission (NHM) for helping us successfully render our services and help people. We are committed to continuing the good work in future as well. In the case of Jharkhand, pregnant women have sought our help the most. So far, we have served 3.59 lakh pregnant women to reach the hospital safely and on time. Apart from this, we have also served 1.45 lakh accident-related cases. Even now, every day we receive thousands of calls and our ambulance service is required in hundreds of places, but we are ready at every moment to offer help in every city and every village. During our tenure, we have also faced lots of challenges, but we are making continued efforts towards improving our services through hard work and dedication to saving lives.”

337 ambulances deployed across the state

Milton Singh, Project Head (Jharkhand), Ziqitza Healthcare Limited said, “In event of any accident or medical emergency, the first thing that comes to every person’s mind is to call 108 ambulances. This emergency service operated by ZHL in Jharkhand is available to the general public 24×7. The company has its centralized call centre in Ranchi with a capacity of 65, from where all the calls are managed and ambulances are dispatched. The company has state-of-art facilities at the call centre as well as in each of its ambulances.”

To operate this free-of-charge service in every nook and corner of the state, 337 ambulances are deployed out of which 40 are Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances, while 287 ambulances are operating with Basic Life Support systems. 10 ambulances in the state are used on national highways to tend to accident cases on highways. Dial 108 EMRS service is a 24×7 toll-free helpline number, where accident victims and pregnant women can call for assistance.

Offering these services seamlessly to the people in Jharkhand has been possible only through the help, support and trust imbibed in the ZHL by the people and the government of Jharkhand along with National health Mission. Through their continuous efforts, ZHL has proved to the people of Jharkhand their commitment to saving lives and serving people in all their medical emergencies and a will to continue the service similarly in future as well.
