Ranchi, Jan 26: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday said he is committed to “realising the dreams of leaders and common people who had fought for the creation of a separate State” and listed the social programmes he has already put into action for Jharkhand. The Chief Minister further said, “According to the Constitution, our government is making special efforts for the welfare of the poor, backward, Dalits and minorities. Many schemes have been started for them. “Aapki Yojana-Aapki Sarkar-Aapke Dwar” programme was organised so that the needy can get the benefits of the schemes.”

He further referred to his government’s implementation of the 1932 Khatiyan-based domicile policy for designating locals as a significant step made to safeguard the interests of the State’s indigenous population. “Let’s make a commitment to creating a state that reflects the aspirations and goals of people who gave their lives to the establishment of Jharkhand,” Soren added.
He pointed out that programmes like the Green Ration Card, Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, Sarvajan Pension Yojana, and Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme had helped the underprivileged and the needy in the State. “Farmers who failed to plant seeds this year or suffered crop damage of more than 33 percent would get 3,500 under the Chief Minister’s drought assistance programme,” the CM said. Prior to this the Chief Minister inspected the parade after unfurling the national flag at the state function organised at the Police Line.
