Jamshedpur, Jan 31: IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre issued a forecast of fog for the next 48 hours. According to the forecast, fog and mist will prevail in several parts of the state during the next two days.

“The fog cover will be seen early in the morning with mainly clear sky later in the day,” said a duty officer at Ranchi Met Centre.

Notably, satellite imagery suggested that the Western Disturbance is a trough in middle and upper tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 Km above mean sea level.

An induced cyclonic circulation lies over the southwest Rajasthan neighbourhood extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level. A well-marked low-pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean moved west-northwestwards.

It is likely to concentrate into a depression and lay centred over the Southeast and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal near latitude 7.7°N and longitude 87.2°E.

Met data suggested that the minimum temperature witnessed a rising trend in most parts of the state during the last 24- hours.
