Daltonganj, Feb 1: Palamu police today arrested three and seized around three kg of marijuana, one bike and three cell phones.
Giving this information, the Bishrampur SDPO Surjit Kumar said Nawa Jaipur police have arrested three people identified as Deep Narayan Mahto, 40, Navin Kumar Mahato, 23 and Mukesh Kumar Bhuiyan 19 who were remanded in judicial custody today.
“Deep Narayan Mahato cultivates marijuana in the backyard of his house also. The consignment of around three kg of marijuana that police seized was his home field-grown marijuana,” Kumar added.
Kumar said Mahato was wise enough to hide some quantity in the bike and some in a jute bag. However, the police had a precise tip-off about the marijuana and hence recovery of it was not difficult.
A case under section 20 (a) 22 of the NDPS act has been registered against all three accused by the Nawa Jaipur police said the SDPO.
