New Delhi, Feb 4: The BJP organised a sizable demonstration on Saturday outside the Aam Aadmi Party’s headquarters in Delhi, demanding resignation of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in response to claims of corruption related to the now-repealed liquor sales policy.

Workers for the BJP were spotted fighting with police officers and attempting to scale barricades erected to keep the mob in check. Others stood and yelled slogans while holding signs.

The Enforcement Directorate just submitted a second charge sheet, and the BJP has accused the Chief Minister of being complicit in corruption because of it. The supplemental charge sheet against five people and seven companies in relation to suspected anomalies in the Delhi excise policy was accepted by a court on Thursday.

After a CBI investigation was requested by the capital’s Lieutenant Governor, VK Saxena, a representative of the BJP-led central government, the AAP government withdrew the policy last year.

A portion of the suspected 100 crore in “kickbacks” from the policy, according to the Enforcement Directorate, which looks into financial crimes and also reports to the BJP-led government at the centre, allegedly went toward the AAP’s campaign for the Goa assembly election last year.

All allegations have been vehemently denied by Kejriwal, who also claimed that the lawsuit was ‘fake’ and intended to aid the BJP in ‘toppling’ administrations.
