MF AHMAD

Daltonganj, Feb 6: Unidentified criminals set a JCB on fire at a construction site of the bridge at Sarwadeeh under Manika police station on the intervening night of Sunday.

The officer in charge of the Manika police station Bhanu Pratap Singh confirming the arson incident said, “It is yet to be ascertained if the JCB machine was set ablaze by any criminal or by some rebels.”

Police have not found any handwritten or printed leaflet from the site of the arson.

Rebels, while committing arson, leave behind a leaflet warning contractors not to work without due permission from the rebel outfit and cash down the levy as well.

The police officer said the contractor has not told police about any threat to him by any group be it the criminal or the rebel. A criminal case against unknown people has been registered with the Manika police station and the investigation is on.
