New Delhi, Feb 7: Infosys has reportedly fired around 600 trainees after they failed to clear the internal fresher’s assessment (FA) test. The trainees and freshers have been sacked over the course of the past few months. In total, the number of terminated employees stands at around 600.

According to a report coming from Business Today, Infosys is firing around 600 fresher employees after not being able to clear the internal assessment. Notably, the IT company conducted an internal test recently and asked all freshers to participate in it

According to the report, Infosys has not yet issued an official statement regarding the number of trainees impacted. However, as per a spokesperson from the company, this is a common exercise. Usually, after trainees fail to clear the FA test, the company proceeds to sack those who failed.

This development comes after many freshers took to social media to share that despite receiving their onboarding letter almost 6 to 8 months ago, they were yet to join the Indian IT Giant. Many candidates are still waiting for their offer letters to come into their inboxes. Freshers have claimed that the gap in their resume, waiting and all with no income coming in has resulted in them worrying about their future career paths.

Earlier, Wipro also laid off around 400 freshers due to poor performance.
