Dhanbad, Feb 10: The district administration has directed the municipal corporation and police department to inspect papers of private health clinics and nursing homes and take action under Clinical Establishment Act (CEA) against the establishment functioning without registration.
The deputy development commissioner (DDC) Shashi Prakash Singh while presiding meeting of the first district-level committee directs civil surgeon (CS) Dr Alok Viswakarma to set up a team for the implementation of Clinical Establishment Act guidelines and inspect the availability of health care facilities at nursing homes and health clinics.
In wake of National Green Tribunal (NGT) directives, he also ordered to conduct an inspection of the bio-medical waste disposal area, Covid-19 waste dumping site, and its isolation status and asked to assess whether NGT guidelines are followed or not in the disposal process.
“Ensure proper security of Covid-19 and bio-medical wasted dumping sites so that neither any rag picker nor stray animal is able to enter the restricted area. For keeping people away from this banned area put up a warning signboard,” said Shashi Prakash Singh.
The DDC also directed civil surgeons to ensure bio-medical waste is being dumped at the identified sites and guidelines for bio-medical waste disposal are followed.
“Conduct inspection of ‘Common Bio-medical Waste Treatment Facilities’ established by Joint Committee,” he said.
The district administration official said at the meeting that 17 points were discussed to implement the directive of NGT.
The deputy commissioner is the chairman of the committee but in his absence, DDC Shashi Prakash Singh presided over the meeting. Civil surgeon Dr Alok Viswakarma, deputy town commissioner Prakash Kumar, deputy superintendent of police (law and order) Arvind Kumar Vinha, medical college representative Dr BC Banerjee and regional officer of State Pollution Control Board Rampravesh Kumar were present.
