Ranchi, Feb.10: Finance Secretary Ajoy Kumar Singh today appeared in person before the court in a contempt petition filed by a doctor of health department, Dr Shivjug Prasad.

The doctor filed a contempt petition after he was given lower pay grade while giving assured career promotion to him on the direction of the Jharkhand High Court.

The doctor deserved ACP on the basis of pay scale of Rs 10000 to Rs 15200 while the finance department gave him benefit of ACP on the pay scale of Rs 5500 to Rs 9000 saying earlier there was some mistake in pay fixation.

Singh, appearing in the court, submitted that anomalies have been removed and a process has been started for payment to the doctor. As the court heard a reply from the finance secretary it directed to give monetary benefit to the petitioner within three weeks.
