Jamshedpur, Feb 14: Union Tribal Affairs minister Arjun Munda’s private assistant’s son Rohit Kumar committed suicide at his residence in Telco on the intervening night of Tuesday.
The deceased, who was the elder son of Shiv Kumar, the private assistant, was suffering from depression and was under medical care for it.
Rohit had shut his room from the inside like he used to do every night while going to bed, but this morning he did not open it at his usual time. When it was an inordinate delay in opening the door, the family members got anxious.
They first knocked at the door but when there was no response from inside they broke open the door to find him hanging from an iron rod. He was already dead.
The suicide was committed in Shiv Kumar’s Sector Market residence where a large number of sympathisers had gathered as the news spread across the locality.
Telco thana OC, Ran Vijay Sharma confirmed it to be a case of suicide but still, he sent the body to the MGM medical college mortuary for postmortem.
“The deceased was remaining mentally disturbed for the past few months and undergoing treatment in the line of depression,” said the OC while talking to lagatar24.com but could not say anything about the reason behind the depression.
Shiv Kumar’s younger son is pursuing his academic career in Delhi.
