Hazaribag DC instructs officials to ensure fire safety audits of govt schools, malls, etc

Hazaribag, Feb 23: Deputy commissioner Nancy Sahay has assigned deputy collector rank officers in each block to take up the fire safety audit of government buildings, schools, cinema halls, malls, hospitals and other commercial buildings.

Notably, For areas under the municipal corporation, deputy development commissioner Prerna Dikshit was assigned the task to ensure the audit.

This move came after a fire incident in Dhanbad which killed many people making the Jharkhand High court pass a fire safety audit in every district.  

DC Sahay asked for a report in this regard in the next 15 days so as to make a plan in this regard and send it to the High Court. 

DC Sahay and superintendent of police Manoj Ratan Chauthe jointly passed the order to take up a mock drill for fire safety gadgets installed at the district collectorate. 

Sahay also asked to lodge an FIR against the management of Oasis school for obtaining fire NOC in a wrong way.
