The secretaries have been instructed to inform the minister-in-charge of any direct orders they receive from the L-G.

In breach of TBR Rules 49 and 50, as well as a Supreme Court ruling, the L-G has been giving directives to department secretaries without consulting the elected government, the government claimed in a statement.

“The implementation of such illegal direct orders from the L-G shall be considered a violation of Rule 57 of the TBR,” it added.

The Centre-appointed Lieutenant Governor and the AAP government have been engaged in a protracted legal dispute. The L-G and the AAP have clashed over a number of subjects.
