Ramgarh, March 2: In the most recent trends, Sunita Choudhary of the All Jharkhand Students Union Party (AJSU) is ahead of Bajrang Mahto of the Indian National Congress in the byelections for the Ramgarh assembly constituency in Jharkhand.
On Thursday, the vote-counting process for bye-elections to two assembly seats in Maharashtra as well as one assembly constituency in each of Arunachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu began.
The voting was held on Feb 27. On Monday, Ramgarh in Jharkhand saw a voting turnout of above 68%.
There are 18 candidates running in the by-elections for the Ramgarh assembly seat in Jharkhand, including 14 Independent candidates.
When Congress leader Mamta Devi was disqualified, by-elections were required.
The All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) Party nominated Sunita Choudhary as its leader, while Mamta Devi’s husband, Bajrang Mahto, stood for office under the banner of the Congress.
