Jamshedpur, March 3: Two elderly men were killed, one of them on the spot as a bull hit them hard near Jail Chowk on Dhalbhum Road under the Sakchi thana area on Friday morning.

The man who was killed on the spot was identified as Ashok Agarwal (63) and the one who succumbed to his injuries later in the MGM medical college hospital was identified as Raj Kishore Singh (60).

Both Agarwal and Singh were local residents and friends. They were travelling on a bike with Agarwal sitting pillion.

According to an eyewitness account, two bulls were engaged in fierce fighting in the middle of the road when the bike was coming from the new courtside toward the old court area.

“Even after pausing for a moment at the sight of the fighting bulls, the bike rider seemed reluctant to wait further and moved forward amid the range of the two warring animals. Then one of the bulls hit the bike making it tossed in the air. The ferocious bull had then hit the fallen bike rider with its horns, causing him to die on the spot,” narrated the eyewitness Nishant Kumar.

Kumar said the local residents had somehow managed to rescue the victims from the dangerous scene and rushed the duo to the medical college hospital where one of them later identified as Raj Kishore Singh was declared as brought dead.

Agarwal who had sustained grievous head injury due to the fall succumbed to his injury in an hour.

OC, Sakchi thana, Sanjay Kumar Singh confirmed the two deaths caused by a bull attack at Sakchi.

“We have asked the civic body JNAC to ensure the safety of the commuters by starting a drive against the stray bulls from the public places, ” said Singh while talking to lagatar24.com.

The bodies of the two were shifted to MGM medical college mortuary for post-mortem.
