Central University of Jharkhand celebrates 15th Foundation Day

Ranchi, March 3: The Central University of Jharkhand celebrated its 15th foundation day on Friday. Delivering the presidential speech the Vice Chancellor of the university said only academic credibility will build the institutional brand.

He also gave stressed the fact that intellectual pursuit should lead to intellectual property contributing to society. Addressing the university he reminded everyone to establish an efficient work culture and set achievable targets.

Prof. J. N. Nayak (OSD), Registrar, Dr. S. L. HariKumar, Dean- Academic Affairs, Prof. Manoj Kumar and Dean-IQAC, R. K. Dey also spoke on this occasion highlighting achievements and challenges the university has faced in the past 14 years.

Awards were also distributed for different sports activities, competitions and academic success. The school of Natural Sciences and the School of Engineering and Technology bagged the most number of prizes.

Teaching and Non-teaching staff of the university were also given an award for participating in sports activities. In addition to sports, the university has given prizes to winners of poetry, essay, painting and photography competitions to celebrate this day.

Awards were also given for academic and research activities. Prof. A. C. Pandey from the School of Natural Resource Management, Dr. Basudeb Pradhan from the School of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Ranjit Kumar from School of Languages and Dr. Rabindranath Sarma from School of Social Science and Humanities got prizes for their exceptional research activities.

Awards were also given to the non-teaching employees of the university for their contribution. The names are Dr. Abdul Halim, Mahendra Rajwar and Kailash Sahoo.

The celebration was held at Manatu as well as the Brambe campus. Teaching staff, non-teaching staff, students and scholars participated in the programme to make it successful.
