Dhanbad, March 28: Senior doctor Dr RN Choudhary was unanimously elected as the new president of the Akhil Bhartiya Pasi Samaj (ABPS), Dhanbad district unit, for the 2023-25 session.
At the annual general meeting of ABPS, besides Dr Choudhary, Dr Mewa Lal Choudhary and Dr Mannu Choudhary were also unanimously elected as the new secretary and treasurer of the Samaj respectively. The AGM authorized the president Dr Choudhary to select other office bearers of the Samaj and executive members.

Dr Choudhary, a retired associate professor of the orthopaedics department of Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical  College Hospital (SNMMCH) Dhanbad, has replaced  Prof (Dr )SN Mehta, retired ENT head of the department of medical college hospital as president.  The outgoing president Dr Mehta monitored the election process for the new committee of Samaj along with Mahadev Choudhary and announced the names of the president and other office bearers.

Newly elected president Dr Choudhary said that the selection of other office bearers of the committee including eight vice-presidents, eight joint secretaries, two office secretaries and eight organizing secretaries would be announced on April 2.

“Poor literacy rate of  the Samaj is still a major concern and challenging point. So the new committee would focus on bringing awareness among members towards education which is the main reason behind the development of society,” said Dr Choudhary.

The ABPS president said that due to their economic background, several students of the Samaj are unable to continue their education. But now the new committee would not let them suffer due to economic hurdles and would push up to continue the course.
