Dhanbad, April 4: The state chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Jharkhand Health Services Association (JHSA), the frontal organization of government doctors, have hailed the Jharkhand High Court order on the revocation of Jamshedpur Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr AK Lal’s dismissal and order for his reinstatement on the post.
IMA state president Dr AK Singh said that the doctor’s body welcomes the landmark order of the High Court and at the same time also urges the state government to think twice before taking harsh decisions against any doctor on a baseless charge.
“Since the High Court has brushed aside the order, the state government must fix responsibility for the unwanted dismissal of a senior doctor (civil surgeon Dr AK Lal) and take action against the concerned authority for this loophole so that such a situation does not arise in future”, said Dr Singh.
Jharkhand High court bench of Justice Ranjan Mukhopadhyay on Monday revoked the dismissal of Jamshedpur civil surgeon Dr AK Lal and directed the state government to reinstate him on the post. Dr AK Lal was dismissed by the government on March 31st 2022 on wrong charges. Dr Lal challenged the health department’s action in the High Court for justice in April 2022.
JHSA state secretary Dr Thakur Mritunjay Kumar Singh said that the reinstatement of Dr AK Lal in the service is a welcome decision of the High Court. The High Court found that the dismissal of Dr Lal was done in a wrong way and delivered the decision after conducting a thorough study and assessment of the matter.
“After the High Court order, a million-dollar question was raised against the manner in which a civil surgeon was dismissed. “ Was not required to conduct a proper study of the wrong charge before the dismissal of Dr Lal”, he said.
JHSA secretary said the doctor’s body expresses its gratitude to honourable Justice and lawyer Ajit Kumar. “ JHSA also salutes the confidence of Dr Lal who did not compromise with justice. The order of the High Court sends the message that the wrong must be protested and truth finally prevails”, said Dr Thakur.
