Jamshedpur, April 5: Today was a bonanza day for the people living in Saranda’s Kiriburu thana area in West Singhbhum as CRPF was in a distribution-spree there.
The paramilitary forces camping there not only did give items of basic necessities to the villagers living there, but also distributed games items like footballs, basketballs, cricket kits among the students.
At a function organised by the CRPF’s 26 battalion at the Durga Mandir premises in Kiriburu, the commanding officer of the battalion, Shibu Mallick distributed these all, bringing smile to the face of the villagers.
Apart from the game’s items, the materials of the basic necessities that were given away to the villagers include blankets, tin sheets, seeds of vegetable as well as fruit plants and LED torch lights.
During this occasion, the commanding officer, Mallick said that the CRPF is always standing with the villagers to ensure their prosperous life, something the naxals are opposed to.
“We are here bringing peace and tranquillity in this area which was once considered to be a naxal-stronghold area. We are here to get the government’s developmental projects executed smoothly so that the people of this region may get the benefits of them, ” said the commanding officer while addressing the villagers at the function.
A large number of people, including girl students from Kiriburu and adjoining Meghatuburu had attended the function.
