Fifth coal mine project of NTPC begins in Hazaribag

Hazaribag, April.5: NTPC’s Keredari Coal Mining Project’s Bhoomi Pujan was duly performed by BGR Mining and Infra Limited at Pandu village of Keredari for coal production. On this occasion, Hazaribagh superintendent of police Manoj Ratan was present along with NTPC’s regional executive director Partha Mazumdar.

Addressing people, Chauthe said that NTPC is the foremost in the country in meeting the needs of energy.

Mazumdar informed that seven coal blocks have been allotted to NTPC in Hazaribagh district in which Keredari is the fifth mining project whose mining work has been started peacefully today. He thanked all the office bearers and the BGR company for this achievement.

Faiz Tyyab, GM of Keredari Coal Mining Project expressed gratitude to all the people present while giving a vote of thanks. On this occasion, under the CSR program, NTPC distributed tri-cycles and cycles among differently-abled people and government school children.

About this new coal mine, the total mined land area acquired under this project is 1255.07 acres including 318.63 acre forest land, 199.14 acres of GMM land. Mineable reserves is 140 million metric tons, added officials. Officials said the estimated mining life of the Keredari mine is 27 years. Coal evacuation will initially take place by road up through Shivpur-Bachra road. The final route for evacuation of coal is a pipe conveyor (up to Urda village) and silo loading system (from Urda to Kharika in Chatra). The pipe conveyor from Keredari mine to Urda village is 9.6 km long. The work of pipe conveyor has been awarded to M/s L&T and the work is in progress at present.
