PSI (India), Jharkhand health dept family planning cell discuss strategy for proper health service

Ranchi, April 6: Under the aegis of the Health Department Family Planning Cell, a state-level meeting for Public Private Partnership was organized in the auditorium of IPH, Namkum on Wednesday.

The purpose of this meeting was to prepare the basis for strengthening an all-inclusive health scheme – a family planning program by bringing private health centers and the government on a single platform to ensure all health services.

Family Planning (FP) nodal officer Dr. Lal Manjhi said that the purpose of the meeting was to motivate private clinics and private health centers to participate in the health system.

He requested the management of the private clinic to contribute to this campaign. He thanked PSI, India for their cooperation and said that we hope to get this cooperation in all 24 districts in the coming days.

State FP Coordinator Gunjan Khalkho presented the status of family planning in the context of India and Jharkhand. She said that counseling will have to be done for eligible couples and youths for family planning. She shared the achievements of divisional and district war family planning, as well as discussed in detail about the available facilities and schemes related to family planning.

State Data Manager Subodh said that the state was to support private hospitals and clinics in every way, provided they get their MoU and registration done, as well as ensure data reporting on HMIS. All DPMs and DDMs should map the private health centers of their respective districts and orient them for data reporting.

State Urban Health Manager Vikas Rathore discussed the policies and provisions of the State NUHM and said that convergence is a good medium where all the departments together can strengthen the health facility. He said that the District Health Department can take the help of private health centers for the polyclinic to be set up under the 15th Finance Commission.

State Representative Population Services International Indian (PSI-India), Nilesh Kumar shared insights on taking family planning services to the urban poor through high-impact interventions.

The dignitaries on this occasion included CS, ACMO, DRCHO, DPM, DDM, CUHM, FOGSI representatives of North Chotanagpur Division (Bokaro, Chatra, Dhanbad, Giridih, Hazaribagh, Koderma and Ramgarh), Directors of private hospitals and P.S. I. Members of India joined. Senior manager of PSI (India) Sunil Kumar informed this.
