Dhanbad , April 14: Hundreds of boy and girl students of Dhanbad School of Nursing,  gheraoed the Dhanbad Sadar police station for several hours in protest against the arrest of their senior from the hostel.

The agitating nursing and Paramedical students demanded immediate release of their senior Pranab Kumar Nayak from the police custody and blocked the gate of Sadar police station and began a demonstration.

The students were on the boil over police entering their hostel and arresting their senior without showing any charge.

However, on the assurance of Sadar police station officer in charge Santosh Kumar to solve the issue after conducting a meeting between students and Dhanbad School of Nursing and Asarfi Hospital management, the agitating students returned to their hostel.

The police on the complaint of Dhanbad School of Nursing picked up senior student Pranab Kumar Nayak from Asarfi Hospital premises-based hostel on Saturday afternoon.

As students knew about it, they became agitated and began demonstrating on Asarfi Hospital premises. Later on, nursing students reached Dhanbad Sadar police station and began demanding the release of their senior.

Nursing and Paramedical students of Dhanbad School of Nursing have been agitating for the last week demanding the return of their fees and documents. They allege that the institution has no permission from the Indian Nursing Council (INC)and the management cheated them.

“Since the institution has no recognition from INC the career of over 500 students has been spoiled. Now they would not get jobs in other states. So we demand from management to refund our fee and documents,” said a nursing student to media persons.
