Hazaribag, April 19: The Sadar police investigating a mobile theft case got a big success by busting an organised gang of mobile thieves who were stealing mobiles from different states and transferring them to the neighbouring country Bangladesh. Police officials said they have arrested five thieves recovering nine mobiles from them.
A police officer said this gang was operating from the Teen Pahadi area of Sahibganj district. Officer-in-charge Ganesh Kumar Singh said their investigation took them to Sahibganj district where five arrests were made. “We have recovered nine mobile phones from them costing Rs 2 lakh,” he added.
Singh said all these gang members were stealing mobile phones from different states including Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal and Uttar Pradesh and sending them to Bangladesh. Sub-inspector Mukesh Kumar led the team which raided an area in Sahibganj and earned success. The officials added that they reached this gang after investigating mobile snatching cases in Hazaribag town.
The arrested criminals said they used to commit crimes in a district and used to leave that area to make police confused.
