Dhanbad, April 19: The bandh call of different student unions today in protest against the new job policy of the government had no impact on the normal life of coal city and other parts of the district till 12 noon.
All small and big business houses in the posh markets of Bank More, Hirapur Park Market, Purana Bazar and Bartand Bus Stand were open and private as well as commercial vehicles especially three wheelers which are called the lifeline of city commuters plied like any other day.
The same scenario was found in Sindri township, Katras, Nirsa- Chirkunda and other parts of the district.

Neither activists of the student union came out in the morning for forcing a bandh on business establishments/traffic movement on roads nor administration had deployed any additional force to tackle them.
The Jharkhand State Students Union (JSSU) had called Dhanbad bandh in protest against the new job policy passed by the Jharkhand cabinet recently. In the evening on Tuesday, students took out a torch procession in the coal city and called upon all sections of people for participating in the bandh call.
