22 people injured in gas cylinder blast in Kolkata

Kolkata, April 21: An LPG cylinder explosion that happened on Thursday at a residential building in Kolkata injured up to 22, according to the police.

“22 people were injured in a fire incident in a residential building located in the Bichali Ghat area of Kolkata, on Thursday. The fire is suspected to have been caused due to a cylinder blast,” police said on Thursday.

Police stated that all of the injured people were being treated at the hospital. So far, there have been no recorded casualties. According to the officials’ preliminary investigation, a fire started because of a gas leak. They said that more investigation is being done.

On April 17, an LPG cylinder explosion near Nangloi Road in New Delhi caused a building to collapse, injuring eight persons. The Delhi Fire Service claimed that the injured were rescued by DFS staff and taken right away to a hospital.
