Ranchi, April 28: The Jharkhand High Court has continued the relief of ‘no-coercive action’ granted to former Congress national president and former Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi in  a matter involving his ‘criminal’ remark for union home minister Amit Shah during a party meeting.

Gandhi had said that no murderer can become the national president in Congress. Congressmen cannot accept a murderer as the national president and this is possible only in BJP, he had said.

The relief was given when Gandhi knocked the door of the high court to drop proceedings against him after the lower court took cognizance in the matter and issued a notice to him.

A single bench Justice Ambuj Nath, while continuing the relief, directed the senior Congress leader to submit his reply in the matter by May 11, which has been fixed as the next date of hearing in the case.

The direction came after advocate Piyush Chitresh and Advocate Dipankar Rai appeared on behalf of Gandhi.  Advocate Vinod Sahu appeared on behalf of the petitioner.
