Ranchi, April 29: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has expressed his desire to establish educational institutes like Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) in the state for better education to tribals.
He expressed his desire while interacting with the media people of Odisha during his two-day visit to attend a function in the said institute. His wife Kalpana Soren and senior bureaucrats of the state accompanied him.
“I had the opportunity to attend the function of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences yesterday. Dr. Achyut Samanta, the founder of this institute, is building a bright future by giving free education to more than 40 thousand children of the poor and deprived tribal community here. Came here to know, understand and see the innovative and creative work they are doing. During this, I got to learn a lot by interacting with the children studying here. We wish to establish a similar institution for the children of Jharkhand with Dr. Samanta ji, so that the tribal children here can be given better education and they can achieve success in every field,” Soren said while interacting with media persons in Puri.
He got the opportunity after he worshipped Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra with traditional rituals and prayed for progress, happiness-prosperity-peace, prosperity and healthy life of Jharkhand and Jharkhand people.
On the occasion, he also counted the achievements of his government.
Sharing achievement on the Naxal front, he said: “Naxalite activities are now at their last stage. Extremists have become weak to a great extent. Although reports of some Naxal violence are also coming, I am sure that all the states together will surely be able to curb Naxalite activities. ”
Regarding achievement on the social welfare front, he said that the government has taken a historic step to provide social security to all sections of the society by implementing NPS and Universal Pension Scheme.
“Providing social security to every section of the society is one of the topmost priorities of the government. Whether it is a government employee or an old man or a disabled person, an abandoned woman or a single woman, our government has taken a historic step by implementing the Universal Pension Scheme and NPS to provide social security cover to everyone. Pension is a stick for anyone’s old age. It strengthens them financially and the government has always been trying to give them its benefits,” he said.
Expressing his commitment for better healthcare for people in Jharkhand he mentioned air ambulance service introduced in the state on Friday.
“The government is constantly making efforts in this direction to provide better health care to the people of the state. In this episode, air ambulance service has been started so that in case of emergency, patients can be sent to better hospitals in other cities for better treatment. Air ambulance service is not only for the rich but the government has ensured that the poor and BPL of the society can also take advantage of it,” he said.
