Ramgarh: With the onset of summer, wild animals have started moving towards the village in search of water. In this sequence, a Kotra deer died after falling into a well in the Gram Panchayat of Gola block on Sunday. The villagers informed the forest department about this.
Confirming this, Ranger Rakesh Kumar Singh and Forester Shiv Shankar said that the matter came to light in the afternoon. The body of a deer was found in a well built in a field near the Shiva temple located in Kumhardaga village. The villagers said that the deer was trying to escape towards the forest by scaling the wall. The deer fell into the well as the well was adjacent to the wall.
Wild animals are wandering due to water shortage. Many areas of Gola block are covered with forests and many types of wild animals can be seen here. But as soon as the summer starts, the wild animals have to wander here and there for water. In such a situation, the deer that reached the populated area in search of water had to lose its life.
Forest department officials who reached the spot took out the dead deer from the well. Veterinarian Rajesh Kumar did the postmortem of the deer. Then on the order of the ranger the dead deer’s last rites were done by burning it in the fire.
