Ranchi, May 8: BJP legislature party chief Babulal Marandi warned Chief Minister Hemant Soren of dire consequences on the latter’s silence on the issue of ‘liquor scam’ in the state.
“It will not be a surprise if the Chief Minister’s soft corner and tacit support towards such corrupt people leads them behind bars,” Marandi said, issuing a press statement pointing out a scam in liquor business in the state.
Holding the chief minister responsible for the scam, he said that a year ago, he had warned the former about the revenue loss due to the conspiracy of the excise department officials to award tenders to the desired Chhattisgarhi companies but the CM maintained silence like ‘Dhritarashtra’.
Marandi said that with the hidden consent of their silence, today corrupt officers became successful in carrying out big scams. He said that the liquor gang operational in Jharkhand had already done a scam of Rs 2000 crore in Chhattisgarh and if the chief minister does not act in the matter he will have to face negative consequences for the same.
