Dhanbad, May 12: DAV Sindri Public School has lodged a complaint with Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge against Dhanbad district Youth Cong president for supporting local land sharks in grabbing playground of the institution.
Ashutosh Kumar, principal of DAV Sindri Public School, in a letter to the Congress national president shot off on May 10, has alleged that district Youth Cong president Kumar Gaurav is supporting local land mafia in capturing the playground of school by attending their illegal function there.
“DAV School is run by a Trust on the land given by Fertilizer Corporation of India. Some local toughs are trying to capture the playground of school and opposing fencing by the district administration. On May 7, land sharks organized a function forcibly on school ground in which Kumar Gaurav was chief guest,” said the principal in his letter to Mallikarjun Kharge.
The principal has also sent a copy of the letter to Jharkhand State Cong president Rajesh Thakur, NSUI national president and Rahul Gandhi.
Though in the letter DAV principal Ashutosh Kumar has mentioned Kumar Gaurav as NSUI district president, but he (Kumar Gaurav) is district youth Cong president. NSUI district president Gopal Krishna, when contacted, said neither he has any information about the function held at Sindri DAV School ground and nor he had attended it.
District Youth Cong president Kumar Gaurav could not be available for comment whether he knew about the encroachment of school playground by vested interests and controversial function held on May 7 which he attended as chief guest.
The DAV principal has urged Malllikarjun Kharge to intervene into matter as the Congress has high tradition and principle of saving interest of students as well as educational institutions.
Ashutosh Kumar has also attached the playground paper, the district administration order and cognizance by the Jharkhand High Court alongwith the letter sent to the Congress national president.
