Hazaribag, May 31: A swift action by the Hazaribag police resulted in the arrest of two criminals who were threatening and demanding Rs 2 crore from K.V.V.N Satyanarayan, project co-ordinator of BGR mining company.  The duo posing as extremists of PLFI (People’s Liberation Front of India) passed threats of a bloodbath if demands were not met.

SP Manoj Ratan Chauthe said a trap was laid to nab the duo. He said since May 12, calls started coming on the mobile of Satyanarayan of BGR, an outsourcing company working in Keredari. Satyanarayan lodged an FIR in the Keredari police station on May 30 making Chauthe to order for a probe and action. Satyanarayan informed to the police that he got a call again from the caller asking him to come near an ancient temple Chundrudham in Tandwa of Chatra on the border of Keredari.

Chauthe formed a team comprising of plain-clothed policemen who took position at Chundrudham keeping eyes on all movements. As company officials came there to deliver the amount on Bukru-Pachda road,  as per the plan, the police team became active.

The two criminals came there to collect the amount and were nabbed. The two were identified as Kuldip Ganjhu and Surendra Ganjhu. The duo admitted working for PLFI member Dukhan Paswan who promised to pay Rs.10,000 to each of them for this work.

Chauthe said the mobile numbers used to make calls to the company officials are now with Dukhan who is an active member of PLFI known as Shiva. We are looking for him, he added. Police have recovered a bike and a mobile from the duo.
