Daltonganj, June 8: The Garhwa administration is giving the final touches to the proposed visit of Governor C P Radhakrishnan to Ramkanda block on Friday.
There will be adequate and effective security cover and passage of the Governor right from the border of Palamu down to Ramkanda in Garhwa district and in reverse order too, said Garhwa SP Anjani Kumar Jha today.
“As the governor is to come by road, we will put in place all that is required for safety and precaution to the road to be negotiated by the Governor and his entourage,” added Jha.
The contingent of the paramilitary force will also be deployed along with the district armed police for the visit of the Governor, reminded the SP Garhwa.
The road to Ramkanda is being sanitized and there will be visible and effective road safety and security measures on the stretch of the road between the border of Palamu and Ramkanda.
On the other hand, DC Garhwa Shekhar Jamuar told this correspondent today, “As it’s terrible heat here we have made the conference hall of the Ramkanda block office as the venue where the Governor would like to interact and interface with a limited number of the commoners on June 9.”
The DC said further, “The motley and assorted gathering would have a sizeable number of particularly vulnerable tribal group people.”
“Earlier we had the plan to have this interfacing programme at the panchayat sachivalaya but its space constraints made us take the venue right into the Ramkanda block office which is far more spacious and offers heat protection too,” added Jamuar.
On being reminded that the water bore in the Ramkanda block office has gone dry and so how drinking water is to be managed here, the DC said, “We would be pressing 2 tankers for drinking water here. We have also made a workable arrangement for piped water from the adjacent another government premise and building.”
It’s around a one-hour programme of the governor here at Ramkanda before he embarks upon a road journey again for Daltonganj in Palamu and for Ranchi on June 9.
Sources said the interfacing and interaction of the Governor with 40 to 50 people at the Ramkanda block office hall could be as little over 35 minutes or so as in around one-hour stay here precious minutes would go for the Guard of Honour of him etc.
The DC made it clear the programme will have no great fanfare but it will be simple and impressive.
Land Pattas under the forest dwellers’ rights act, Awas Yojna etc are to roll out here in a limited way, said sources.
“The Governor will be requested by us to do notional plantation in the premise of the Ramkanda block where later on we will go for a good length plantation,” added Jamuar.
Sources said the particularly vulnerable tribal group people and others attending this session with the Governor will be offered ‘nashta pani’ as the participants will be made to sit well ahead of the arrival of the Governor here at Ramkanda.
