Hazaribag, June.13: Deputy Development Commissioner(DDC) Prerna Dikshit has decided to dedicate at least two days to improve the functioning of Sheikh Bhikhari medical college and hospital.

So,  the work is going on to make a grand office for her close to the chamber of hospital superintendent. Sources said Dikshit wants to keep a close eye on the working of doctors to para medical staff as well as to put a check on middlemen active here.

The State government had appointed her administrator of the hospital in DEcember last year.  A tough master Dikshit took bold initiatives to improve the condition of the hospital but it led her on a warpath with doctors.

Despite her effort, conditions failed to change, making people to charge doctors and paramedical staff of negligence in duty which resulted in deaths here on time-to-time.

Dikhsit said her objective is to provide better facilities to people coming here. For this, strict monitoring and strong facilities were needed, she added. “I will ensure implementation of everything for the benefit of patients sitting at my new office here on Fridays and Saturdays. But other than these two days, I can come here any day sitting in the  office and visiting various wards as well,” added she.

The young 2017 batch IAS sounds tough and positive when she said she will ensure putting advice and a complaint box outside her office in hospital. Many failed to complain out of fear and so this box will help them, she added. “We will open the duo box daily, taking action. Dikshit said she had made it mandatory for doctors to do 20 days duty at hospital but 30 of them failed in this also. I have stopped their salaries this month,” she pointed out.
