Daltonganj, June 13: A pall of gloom descended on the police line here today when two cops living at different barracks died of illnesses early Tuesday morning.
According to SP Chandan Kumar Sinha, the two deceased cops are Prakash Kiran, 46, hailing from Lakhisarai and Janardan Prasad Singh, 53, belonging to Ara in Bihar.
The two were rushed to the MMCH Daltonganj where the doctors declared the two brought dead.
The SP said, “Both the deceased cops were chronic boozers. Prakash Kiran had beer last night. He probably had a heart attack this morning and died. Janardan Prasad Singh had bad health all for his drinks. Singh’s health was always a run down. His wife used to be with her in the police line but as she was away for a week or so, Singh must have been gulping down huge pint of wine in her absence which took his life finally.”

The cops would be postmortemed today in the MMCH Daltonganj, said the SP to rule out if there was any foul play behind their demise.
As these two cops died in harness and were in the police line which makes them on duty the post death humanitarian family help in terms of money, job on compassionate ground etc will be coming to the bereaved families of the two, reiterated the SP.
