Ramgarh, June 16: Hyenas are active in Jubilee More, Bhurkunda for the last few days. They attempted to attack passers-by late Thursday evening near Jubilee More.  But both the passengers managed to escape after saving their lives. One of the passengers Vijay Singh, a resident of Patel Nagar, Bhurkunda, who was passing through the above turn, also narrowly escaped the attack of hyenas last evening.

He said that due to a sharp turn, his eyes suddenly fell on two hyenas, standing on the side of the road. They became aggressive and tried to get the bike off the edge, but they somehow made it past the Jubilee turn. After getting information about the attack, Bhurkunda OP in-charge Amit Kumar immediately sent the patrol team to Jubilee turn.

On hearing the news of the attack on passers-by, Ranger KK Chowdhary sent the Forest Department team to Jubilee Mor at night.  After taking charge here, the team started searching for the hyenas in the surrounding areas. Ranger KK Chowdhary said that hyenas become more active and dangerous at night. They come because of the carcasses of cattle being dumped around the Jubilee turn and when they do not get food, they become aggressive. He said that very soon the hyenas would be driven into the dense forest. DFO Nitish Kumar said, “I have no information about this. I will talk to the local officials of the Forest Department.”
