Ranchi, June 17: Retired IPS officer Rajeev Ranjan Singh joined the BJP along with his supporters at a meeting organized at the state BJP headquarters on Saturday.
State president Deepak Prakash welcomed him into the party. Along with Ranjan, many retired police officers, lawyers and businessmen also took the BJP membership.
After joining the BJP, Singh said that the BJP’s working style and principles match with his principles and thus he joined the party. He said he will try to stay in the party and fight the stigma of corruption in the state and end it.
“Whatever responsibility the party gives, he along with his supporters will discharge with full honesty,” Singh said.
Prakash expressed his pleasure over retired IPS Singh joining the party. “The party will be stronger if Rajeev Ranjan and his supporters join the BJP,” he said.
Singh is basically a resident of Palamu. In 1992, after passing the state police service examination in united Bihar, he became a DSP. He was DSP in Hatia, Jamshedpur and Chatra. He was promoted to IPS in 2006 and was made the SP of Simdega. After this, he worked as SP in Jamshedpur, Ranchi Rural, Pakur and Godda. He also worked as Traffic SP in Ranchi.
Singh was again promoted to DIG and became DIG in Kolhan. He was also the DIG of JAP. After retiring last year, he entered social service.
