Ramgarh: Closing ceremony of the two-day Ramgarh District Badminton Championship under the aegis of the Jharkhand Badminton Association was organized last evening at the NTS Barkakana.
JD (U) MP Khiru Mahto, the chief guest on the occasion, while encouraging the players, said, “In every field of life, even after all the efforts of the human beings, there is victory and defeat. The game should always be played in the spirit of the game. Due to this, bad feelings do not arise in the mind when someone else wins”. He said that sports leads to physical and mental development, as well as career can also be improved in sports. Apart from him, Special Guest Central Workshop Barkakana General Manager Ramesh Kumar Singh, District Badminton Association President Dushyant Patel, and more were present in the closing ceremony.
Tournament Director Alok Singh, Tournament Secretary Nikhil Kumar, Organizing Secretary Tulsi Bedia etc were present. The guests were welcomed with bouquets and mementos. National referee Avinash Kumar Tiwari, Tulsi Bedia, Sanmeet Kumar played the role of referee in the competition.
The players performed brilliantly in the championship. In Boys Single U-15, Deep Aditya beat Pritam Gupta by 21-12, 21-10, In Boys Double U-15, pair Lucky Kumar and Pritam Gupta beat pair Deep Aditya and Ayush Kumar by 21-12, 18- 21, 21-8; Boys Single U-17 Sagar Kumar beat Piyush Kumar by 21-9, 21-8; Girls Single U-17 Vedika Gautam beat Apoorva Annaya by 21-14, 21-9. Girls Double U-17 pair Aakriti Kumar and Kashish Rani beat pair Khushi Gupta and Veena Kumari by 21-19, 21-15. In Boys Single U-19 Sagar Kumar beat Priyanshu Ranjan by 21-11, 21-13; Boys Double Priyanshu Ranjan and Adi became champions in the U-19 game.
Sagar Kumar beat Animesh Lal Chandra and Ayush Chatterjee by 19-21, 21-19, 21-15; in Girls Single U-19 Vedika Gautam beat Kashish Rani by 21-18, 21-17; in Girls Double U-19 Khushi Gupta and Veena Kumari became champions by defeating Aakriti Kumari and Apoorva Annaya by 21-17, 21-11.
Nikhil, Sikandar, Mulsi Bittu continued to shine in the Mains. Nikhil Kumar beat Pawan Gopal by 21-14, 11-21, 21-13 in Men’s Single; Bittu Kumar and Akash Kumar beat Nikhil Kumar and Sambit Kumar by 21-10, 21-15 in Men’s double. Men’s Single 35 plus, Sikandar Soren beat Shakti Sharan by 21-10, 21-15; in Men’s Double 35 Plus, Tulsi Bedia and Sikandar Soren beat Asrat Khan and Shakti Sharan by 21-17, 20-22, 21-8. In Men’s Double 35 Plus and Men’s Single 45 Plus, Tulsi Bedia became the winner and runner up by defeating Asrat Khan by 21-15, 21-19.
