Hazaribag, June 24: On the instructions of trainee IPS Kumar Shivashish, the Ichak police today caught two smugglers red-handed with heroin, opium and banned syrup near Nawadih village. The success came during the night patrolling. The police recovered three Android mobiles, two bikes, a weighing machine, 19 grams of heroin, 190 grams of opium and 23 bottles of banned cough syrup from the arrested smugglers.
The arrested smugglers were identified as Pradeep Yadav, a resident of the Gidhaur police station area of Chatra district and Suman Kumar, a resident of Sijuha in Ichak. Ichak police station in-charge cum trainee IPS Kumar Shivashish confirmed the success at a press conference this afternoon.
Shivashish said a tip-off was received that drug peddlers coming from Giddhaur were in Chatra trying to lure villagers into this illegal business near Dand Ichak Mod. The police patrol team was made active. Soon the duo were caught in suspicious conditions near Nawadih School on Friday night at 12:00. The cost of the drugs is around Rs 1.5 lakh. The arrested youths are being interrogated thoroughly.
Shivashish said the Ichak police will soon succeed in busting a big gang of drug peddlers in the coming days. While giving a clear-cut message to the youth, he said that youths are spoiling their lives by consuming such drugs. Through this act, they are shattering the dreams of their parents also, he said. He said that the enemies of the country and society will never be spared.
