Ranchi, June 26: After four years of trial, the court of Additional Judicial Commissioner Vishal Shrivastava convicted Lokesh Choudhary in Agarwal brothers’ murder case. Now, the court will decide his quantum of punishment on June 30.
A civil court lawyer informed this saying the order came after examination of 19 prosecution witnesses.
Hemant Agarwal and Mahendra Agarwal were shot dead at Choudhary’s office. Their bodies with bullet wounds were recovered on March 7, 2019 noon from the chamber of Choudhary, the then franchise head of a television news channel at posh Ashok Nagar.
Hemant, who was 38 at the time of murder, and Mahendra, who was 40 at the time of murder, ran a courier service, Pawan Air Cargo, had gone to the news channel office in a scooter a day before their bodies were recovered to give Choudhary a reminder about the loan.
According to police, Choudhary under a plan returned the cash to Agrawal brothers but his intention was wrong. This resulted in firing and killing.
An FIR was registered in this connection at the Argora police station.
Earlier on April 29 this year, Choudhary, accompanied by his bodyguards Sunil Kumar Singh and Dharmendra Kumar Tiwary besides driver Shankar had given his statement coming from Birsa Munda Central Jail. The court recorded statements of all the accused and all the accused pleaded innocence. Choudhary could not produce any witness to defend him during trial.
