Jamshedpur, June 26: A 20-year-old youth was fatally wounded on being attacked by two unidentified assailants at Ramnagar in Kadma early on Monday morning.
Identified as Akaash Kumar, the youth had sustained grievous head injuries after the assailants had hit him with a chopper on the Kali Mandir road at about 4 am today.
On coming to know about the attack, the victim’s family members rushed to the spot and found him lying in a pool of blood.
The family members took Akaash to MGM medical college hospital, but as his condition was critical, the doctors on emergency duty referred him to Tata Main Hospital.
The anxious family members rushed the injured to Tata Main Hospital where they failed to get him admitted due to the cash deposit issue. They subsequently decided to take him to RIMS in Ranchi.
While the injured was being taken to Ranchi, he succumbed to his injuries on the way. The aggrieved family members soon returned to MGM medical college hospital for getting it confirmed whether the injured was really dead. The doctors at the medical college hospital finally declared him as dead.
The Kadma thana OC, Ashok Kumar said they are aware about the murder of a youth at Ramnagar, but expressed to say anything specific about the murder as they are yet to get any formal FIR in connection to the incident.
The murder victim’s brother Santosh Kumar said that two youths Samir and Majhla had come to their house in the wee hours and had taken Akaash along.
“A few days ago, Akaash had a brawl with Samir and Majhla over some old issues. I have strong reason to believe that Samir and Majhla have inflicted fatal injuries to my brother, ” said Santosh while talking to lagatar24.com.
The murder victim would work as a drinking water supplier in Ramnagar area.
The police have seized the body and sent it to the MGM medical college mortuary for postmortem.
