Ranchi, June 27: Chief judicial magistrate of the district Mithilesh Kumar Singh today rejected the bail application of ‘love jihad’ accused Tanveer Akhtar.
The Jharkhand police had arrested Akhtar from Bihar after a model lodge an FIR terming it a ‘Love Jihadi’ and saying the youth developed a relationship with her hiding his religious identity and when the relationship became intimate and the time came for marriage he disclosed his religious identity and mounted pressure on her to change religion.
According to a statement of Bihar’s Bhagalpur based model settled in Mumbai, she fell prey to Akhtar’s ill motive when she had come learning modeling at Yash Modelling Agency, where Tanveer was working as director and identifying himself with a Hindu name. The model has registered a zero FIR in this connection at Versova in Mumbai and later on the basis of the zero FIR an FIR was registered at the Gonda police station in Jharkhand capital.
