Dhanbad, June 27: IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) has extended the date for registration in the Jharkhand School Innovation Challenge (JSIC) competition till July 2.
Coordinator of the programme Prof Ajit Kumar of IIT ISM told media persons that in the wake of rising interest and the response of schools as well as students across the state, the date for registration for the Jharkhand School Innovation Challenge 2023 has been extended till July 2.
The Jharkhand School Innovation Challenge is an ambitious initiative of IIT ISM to promote innovation and creativity among school students.
The registration kick-started on June 13 and the last date was fixed till June 25.
In the competition, students of class VIII to class XII are eligible to participate. A maximum of three students of a school are allowed to participate.
In the first phase, students have to submit their idea of innovation. Each school can submit a maximum of two ideas or two teams with one unique idea each. An IIT ISM official said the onsite mentoring round for the event will be held from September 4 to 8 while the final would be on September 9.
The Jharkhand School Innovation Challenge provides students of the state an opportunity to identify and analyze real-world problems and come up with innovative solutions. This helps in developing their critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills.
“This event also offers a platform for students to showcase their innovative ideas and projects to industry professionals and policy makers,” an official said.
