Ranchi, June 29: Dr Bimlesh Kumar Singh, one of the senior most members in medicos bodies of the state, has been elected convener of the Jharkhand chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA).
Dr Singh, who has already discharged responsibilities in the IMA and the Jharkhand Health Service Association (JHSA), the frontal organization of state government doctors, in different roles, is at present secretary-cum-registrar of the Jharkhand Medical Council (JMC).
State IMA president Dr Arun Kumar Singh and secretary Dr Pradeep Kumar Singh giving this information today said that the executive committee unanimously decided to assign Dr Bimlesh Kumar Singh the responsibility of convener of the IMA, Jharkhand.
“ We are looking forward to the extraordinary work by you for the betterment of the IMA and fraternity,” said the IMA state president and secretary in their joint letter to Dr Bimlesh Singh.
Dr Bimlesh Kumar Singh was the treasurer of the IMA state chapter from 2010-12 and handed over the charge to the present treasurer Dr BP Kashyap. He had been first elected as secretary of the JHSA and continued on the post from 2013 to 2022 before retiring from the service.
In the era of Dr Sumant Mishra and Dr Praveen Chandra ( both were also directors-in-chief of the state health also ) after Jharkhand became a separate state, the secretary and president of the JHSA were selected unanimously on the basis of seniority.
Dr Singh was also the secretary of the Ranchi chapter of IMA in the 2005-06 sessions.
“ It is a new responsibility for me and I would do my best to work in the interest of all doctors and try to fulfil the mission of IMA for which I have been assigned the post,” he said.
