Amit Shah speaks to CM Patel amid heavy rains in Gujarat

New Delhi, July 2:  After learning about the flood-like situations existing in Gujarat, Union Home Minister Amit Shah talked with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Sunday and assured him that both the central government and the state government were supporting the citizens during the difficult period.

Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been sent to some of the worst-affected areas, including Kutch, Jamnagar, Junagadh and Navsari, officials stated.

“The government is working hard to provide all possible help to the people affected by the flood-like situation that has arisen in many places due to heavy rains in Gujarat. I have spoken to the CM. NDRF and SDRF teams and local administration are engaged in helping people in these areas. The central government and the state government are standing with the people in this difficult time,” Shah said in a tweet.

In various places in Gujarat, heavy rains have disrupted daily life by flooding low-lying cities and villages, simulating a flood.

The majority of the country is expected to experience extensive rainfall, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), as the southwest monsoon moves through almost all parts of the country.
