Jamshedpur, July 12: A 22-year youth from the steel city was among the four youths who drowned in the Kuakhai river in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
The drowning victim from Jamshedpur was identified as Aryan Mishra, son of Pankaj Mishra, a resident of JKS Colony at Jawaharnagar in Mango.
Aryan who was the only child of Pankaj Mishra used to study MBA in a Bhubaneswar-based college and had been to the Kuakhai river along the Balianta thana area in Bhubaneswar for taking a bath last afternoon when the tragedy occurred.
A group of nine students including Aryan had gone to the river for a bath. After taking a plunge into the swollen river, four of them drowned.
The police had succeeded to fish out two bodies by the evening whereas two remaining students remained traceless. Later, one of the recovered bodies was identified by fellow students as that of Aryan Mishra.
The police subsequently informed the victim’s parents about the death, leading the family members and relatives to rush to Bhubaneswar immediately. The body is expected to reach Mango this evening.
Aryan had done his BBA course from a college in Calcutta and had joined a college for pursuing an MBA course in Bhubaneswar.
A pale of gloom spread across Mango locality after the information regarding the tragic death of Aryan had reached here.
