Ranchi, July 19: A city resident, Anurag Kumar, has filed a PIL demanding closure of a bar beside the Shiva Temple at Kadru.
Kumar, in his petition, filed through Ayushi Agarwal submits that according to the Jharkhand Excise Rule, liquor shops cannot be opened in 100 meters periphery of a temple, mosque, gurudwara and educational institutions but license to open a bar is being issued in violation of the law.
According to the petition, the act is a violation of the Supreme Court order.
According to the petitioner Oona Bar is located right next to the Shiva Mandir at Kadru Road and even in the month of Shravan it is being operated hurting the Hindu sentiments.
