Dhanbad: Senior Para teacher electrocuted on way to school

Dhanbad, July 26: A Para teacher identified as Dinesh Marandi (35) was electrocuted after he came in contact with 11,000 high-tension broken live wire in Bariyarpur village under Maniyadih police station of Tundi block around 32.2 km away from Dhanbad district headquarters on Wednesday morning.

Maniyadih police station officer told that the incident occurred around   6 am today. The victim Dinesh Marandi, a Para teacher cum in-charge of  Primary School Jondra Pahadi School, was going on school visit in the early morning when he came in contact with broken high volts live wire lying on the village road.

Since the broken live wire was high tension he succumbed to his injury on the spot. The victim’s younger brother who followed him half an hour later found him lying on the road. He informed villagers and live wire was removed from the road. But till then Dinesh Marandi had already passed away.

Maniyadih police station team also reached the spot and took the body in possession.

Dinesh Marandi had been working as a Para teacher in this school since 2002 and was in-charge cum secretary of it.
Jharkhand State Para Teachers Association president Md Siddique has expressed deep shock over the demise of Dinesh Marandi and has demanded Rs 10 lakh as compensation and a job for his wife.

“Since  Para teacher Marandi has lost his life due to carelessness of the power department, the government must pay compensation of Rs 10 lakh to family and a job to his wife”, he said.

Dinesh Marandi has left two sons and a daughter.

Jeetpur panchayat chief cum  Tundi Block 20 point chief Indrall Baski also reached the incident site and held local officers and staff of the power department responsible.
