Pune, August 1: NCP leader Sharad Pawar shared the stage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday at the function of Tilak Memorial Trust. Between the exercise of opposition unity and the split in the NCP, Sharad Pawar’s decision has not gone down well with the opposition parties, especially the Congress.
In this program organized in Pune, Prime Minister Modi was honoured with the Lokmanya Tilak National Award by the Trust.
Notably, this is the first time when Sharad Pawar and PM Modi are sharing the stage together in a program after Ajit Pawar’s rebellion.
Before the program of Tilak Memorial Trust, Prime Minister Modi offered prayers at Dagdusheth Temple in Pune. Soon after reaching Pune from Delhi, Prime Minister Modi reached this famous Ganesh temple located on Shivaji Road. The trustees of the temple told that Modi is the first Prime Minister who visited the temple while in this position and offered prayers there.
The Dagdusheth Halwai Temple is managed by the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati Trust and is one of the richest temples in the state and devotees believe that the presiding deity fulfils their wishes.
